The image grid section allows you to showcase a collection of additional images in an organized grid layout. With customizable options for media layout and ratio, you can create visually appealing grid that best represents your products, services, or brand. Use this section to enhance your products, collections, pages, blogs, or blog posts templates by displaying multiple images that provide more context and engage your audience.

Setting up

Update 5.1.0

The new ‘Image grid’ update allows creating pages to store images in the metafield. This allows the section to be displayed an unlimited number of times on any template.

First, create the metafield:

1. Open your Shopify admin.
2. Go to Settings → Custom data → Pages.
3. Click ‘Add definition’.
4. Enter ‘Gallery’ as the metafield name, resulting in the custom.gallery metafield name.
5. Select the type ‘File’ with ‘List of files.’
6. Click ‘Save.’

Next, create a page with a name that associates with the gallery, such as ‘Project X Photos’. Scroll down to the newly created ‘Gallery’ metafield and fill it with photos.

Now, add the Image grid section to any template, and select the created page.

Older versions

This section automatically retrieves images from a custom metafield gallery added to Products, Collections, Pages, Blogs, or Blog posts. To create a metafield specifically for the image grid section, follow these steps:
